'I will piss on you, and you will be glad for it' - Ajit Pawar

Ajit Pawar is the deputy CM of Maharashtra. Its unfortunate that I share his surname.
He is a symbol of what is wrong with India. Like Rahul Gandhi, he is benefited by his lineage. The only reason people like these get to the 'throne' is because of the horrible nepotism that characterizes Indian politics.
Watch this video to understand why people like these should be banished from the country, let alone 'rule' it.

The deputy CM, angrily reacts to the 55 day fast of 'some Deshmukh' in view of drought in Maharashtra.
1. How he reacted?
He reacted angrily. He trivialized not only the fast, but the terrible drought tragedy that is claiming lives and livelihood in Maharashtra.
This aspect was covered in media, shockingly so much is left out by media!

2. Reacted against what?
The fast. 55 days of fast! I was shocked. Isn't that news worthy by itself? how come 55 day fast of a person doesn't get featured in news?
When Gandhi fasted, the British reacted with a moral agency - they felt responsible to act.
What does it say about India of today where people fast, protest, die in fasting and still are unable to elicit any reaction from the government.
How thick can skin be? How much blood needs to flow before government will take notice?
Do the government and the 'rulers' not have any moral bone in their body?

and horror of horror: when government does take notice, it treats it like a mild annoyance, a fly to be swatted, a vermin to be taken care of.
55 days of fast instigates mild annoyance, which elicits an angry reaction of ridicule.

3. What does it mean when a ruler ridicules his subject's fast?

What does he think of the person who fasts?  He does not think of the person as a 'person' at all. Look at Ajit Pawar in the video. See how he disregards the person's existence - some deskhmukh. Look at how his hands fly. Look how his eyes crook with his lips extended in incredulity.
'Who is this lowly vermin who is causing this annoyance'. That is what his body language is transmitting.
His next act is a violent act, not a mere question, or a 'humorous' interjection to lighten the mood. He dismisses this lowly annoyance with his violent metaphor of urine.
That's how he sees his subjects.
He pisses on his subjects. He is so far high above all the rest of us. If he bothered, he would piss on us. If it were upto him, he would not bother to do that as well. That's how he sees himself.

4. How does the audience react?
They laugh. He metaphorically pissed on them. He robbed them of their decency and identity and shrunk them into vermin in his universe. and they laughed.
Are they idiots? quite possible.
Do they feel that they are on the side of victor? Quite possible too. Everything quickly turns into a power. There is never space and time for debate and comprehension. simply, survival. For survival, we instinctively 'take side' with whoever who is stronger.
They reveled in the imagined triumph that they wanted to share with Ajit Pawar - they too wanted to join him in pissing over the subjects. Imagine the power!

What does that tell you about our democracy? about the 'will' of our people?
